Some of my success and challenges have differed throughout my creative writing class this year. The success that showed the most significates this year is my train of thought, I have been in many situations where I have no idea what to write or even what style I want to write in but this year I have thought of many many ideas that I can write about and different ways or styles I can write I can accomplish this idea. I think that this is a valuable because I am getting a more creative outlook on writing and it is making it more enjoyable. The challenges of this year have been actually getting my ideas on paper, I may have had all these great ideas but choosing one and writing it is a huge challenge. I can think of what I want to write but arranging my ideas on paper is hard but I am slowly overcoming it.
I want to focus on meaning and rhyme because I feel like I am pretty good at these but there is still room for improvement. Things that I know about rhyme are that you can rhyme anything, it just depends on the way you say and what you want to put emphasis on. I am interested in these because just adding these two things to a poem or a story can make a huge significates in your writing. “I put my or-ange in stor-age and ate por-age.”

I am enjoying the most in creative writing is getting the time to sit and write about whatever I want. I never make the time to write a short story and I think that I need to put that time in my day, but now I do cause of creative writing. I think that to have the most productive day you need to exercise both sides of your brain and I normally practice the right side of my brain, the math- logical side because I am naturally just more into math. So when I practice the left side of the brain it gets me more creative and my day is complete with equal practice.
I have written a lot of poems and they are normally short lines but long in general. For the poems in this class they are just short all round but I think that the more poems I write the more meaningful they get, even though they are short. Before I wrote long poems about random things and each stanza didn’t really match and flow. I think that writing poetry before though was a lot more natural and easy, but the more that my poem voice grows the harder it is getting. So I would say that I am growing as a poet and I didn’t even know it…. Haha
I think that meaning is the most important because my poems are about an idea, they don’t really have sound or character. I could include metaphor to add more meaning, but I really want to focus on the meaning behind the poems and how they answer the question.
