Shakespeare Play
Shakespeare’s wonderful play Macbeth was turned into a Meta theatrical shadow puppet production. I had to write that many times on the poster I made because I was the Publicity Relations and Exhibition Coordinator. This means that I had to set up the exhibition and make posters and programs.
I connected to this project like a charger connects to a wall. When we started Shakespeare I feel like I had no idea what that crazy man was thinking, I thought he was just going loco. But now I realize that that loco-ness was a wonder play waiting to come out into a spectacular shadow puppet production. I loved being able to understand him after a lot of reading and analyzing. It took a lot to understand the dagger speech but when I got it I felt so smart and awesome. But when I got that poster done it was best feeling during that whole project! It felt so good to know you had an amazing poster all of Durango would see.
The most difficult thing was the program. It took me a while to do. When I thought I was finished Jessica did not agree that I was done. It took a really long time to finish up the program. I finished it the day of the showing literally, and Elena was late and had them with her so I just had to stand at the door and greet people without them. I think most challenging thing was having my other two of partners do really nothing. I know that one of them made a different poster but that does not change that they did not help me and Elena. One time I had to really preserve when I didn’t have a laptop to do the poster on and I had to go to Roxy’s room and finish it up there.
I learned that I can be a true leader. When I got into the project I couldn’t really boss people around, but when we got the exhibition set up going I was on a role to keep people busy. Now I feel as though I can go up to people and ask what they are doing to help and if they say nothing give them a job. Also I can get things done in a timely manner, when I have a list to do and places to be I get it done quickly.
William Shakespeare was a wonderful human being that wrote spectacular plays. I understand why people love him still. His plays are full of love and death. He described them so well and they are just full of drama and action I can’t get over it. And that is why we are still read and act out his plays 400 years later.
