La poesía de la comida!
For this project we had to chose a spanish recipe. I chose Stuffed Poblanos. Then we had to find the recipe and shorten it and translate it. Then we wrote odes to either the dish or a flavor in the dish. I wrote mine to the tomatoee flavor. You can see down below.
From this project I learned a lot of words in spanish. Also I learned how to conjugate words to make them a command. I also learned how to make a delicious recipe!

The project, Los Cuentos infantiles, was a project where we had to write a children's book in Spanish. We wrote a simple child's book that had to have a main theme and some of the classic things that children's book have. Like colors, pictures that take up the whole page, simple sentences, and have it engaging. After we made our books we went to Needham Elementary School and read our books to 2nd graders in a Spanish class. We got put into groups and read them our books and rotated about every 15 minutes.
I really liked this project! I liked how it was really free, we got to write a book about anything we wanted as long as it was on our country that we researched earlier on in the semester. My favorite part of this project was probably writing our books. I am really child like and I know what kids like in books because I work at the Boys and Girls Club so I enjoyed thinking through the what I was going to write about and putting it all together in a interesting way was super fun! I learned a lot not only about myself in this project but also some awesome spanish!! I learned that I can write children books and I really enjoy it! And I learned that "huellas" in spanish in footprints and "busca" is flower and I learned how to command somethings. The only thing I would change is taking more time to hang out with the kids and read to them more, that is only because I really like kids!

What is Dia de Los Muertos?
In this project we chose a deceased family member and made a calaca out of wire and paper mache. We painted them with the theme Dia de los muertos, that means color full and happy. To go along with calaca we made a poem. It described our family member in spanish. It was about 15 lines and it just said what they loved, what they desired, and what they want.
My Poem
In this project I learned all about Dia de los muertos; I learned why it is so important to them (who they celebrate it) and even what they eat for this celebration.
I loved how it was only about 30 minutes but having all the spanish classes in one room that wasn't that big, that was a little hard. So maybe just next year just get a bigger room even multiple with the different grades in different rooms.
The most challenging thing for me in this project was painting my calaca. I am not a very talented person when it comes to art and painting but I managed to do it and I was fairly proud. The most enjoyable part of this project was probably writing the poetry, I like writing poetry and I thought it was cool to write one in english and then translate it.
I would have done maybe only one thing different and that would be, probably not making a calaca and make a painting on just a canvas. I may not be good at painting but it would be easier, I think, than painting a poorly made calaca of a man I didn't know.
I was most proud of my poem because I am fairly well at writing poetry and I got incorporated some of my good skills, poetry, and some of my not as good skills, Spanish, together and I thought it turned out really well.
