How have I Grown as a mathematician!
I have grown the most in Math. Last year I didn’t really care for it, I liked it but I kind of slacked off and didn’t really care, but this year I love it! Being in math this year made me want to be a teacher… a math teacher! I know not everyone is for math.. or teaching but I really love both of these! I am going to college to get my teaching degree in math, criminology, and psychology. Having Effi! She is a great teacher! She gives us homework every night I really love it! Once again I am the odd one out. But I honestly love this subject and everything about it. The worst grade I have gotten in this class was a 85 out of 100 and I fixed it and got 90 out of 100. In math I help my friends and I feel like a teacher! I help the person that I sit next to and she says “She has help me understand concepts that Effi couldn’t. She has taken the time to help me solve homework problems and been an amazing support!” That makes me feel good and smart.
Advisory; I am expressive amiable.
1. What is your primary and secondary social style?
My primary social style was expressive.
My secondary social style was Amiable.
2. Given your social style – how do you like to be treated/interacted with? How don't you like to be treated/interacted with?
To people to accept me and have people open up to me, is how I like to be treated.
I don't like it when people are mean to me, I get hurt very easily.
3. Given your social style – Where do you sometimes feel misunderstood?
When people don't understand that I have things in my life but I care more about other people. I get judged pretty hard on that, which makes my feelings hurt and that makes me feel like poop.
4. What could others do to relate with you more effectively?
Kind of understand where I am coming from and just understand that I probably different than a lot of other people and I act different and all that jazz.
5. What could you do to with other styles more effectively?
Drivers: Just understand that they like to lead but they also need someone there to make sure they are not overpowering and just make them chill I guess.
Analytical: They are the people that over think stuff and need a plan, but they spend most of their time making that plan and I need to be there to make sure it gets done. And we aren't just there making it the whole time.
Amiables: They are pretty sensitive and they put other peoples feelings before theirs. And I can just understand that and just be cool about it. And know that they do that, so if I am all in a bad mood I don't want to be like that all the time around them. They will then get in a bad mood and then everyone is in a bad mood! And that is bad!
Expressives: They expresses themselves a lot and I understand that not everyone does that and it can get annoying and some people just need to not do that all the time.
6. When you are stressed – what behaviors will people see? What causes you to go into “stress behavior”? When you are stressed what can people do to best support you?
When I am stressed I just shut down basically and I don't want to do anything which makes it more stressful because I don't do it. I get in this position when I have nad grades and I start to think of all the different things I have to do and it gets bad. Then life at home isn't always the easiest. I can be supported by people just making me work. I need a really good plan that I need to stick to. People should encourage me to do everything just don't think about everything at once.
